The Innovation Awards is an annual competition co-sponsored by the AHR Expo, ASHRAE, and AHRI for manufacturers pioneering the future of HVACR. It recognises the most inventive and original products, systems, and technologies showcased at the AHR Expo.
The awards recognise the most inventive and original products, systems, and technologies showcased at each year’s AHR Expo. Products go head-to-head in the following categories: building automation, cooling, heating, indoor air quality, plumbing, refrigeration, software and sustainable solutions, tools & instruments and ventilation. Each year, one of the category winners is selected as the product of the Year winner.
The Show Manager, Mark Stevens , remarked that the Innovation Awards aim to highlight these companies and professionals and their innovation trajectory and to celebrate those pushing the bar. The category, company, and product as the winner are mentioned here.
Refrigeration
Winner: Danfoss
Innovation: BOCK HGX56 CO2 T

The 2025 AHR Expo Innovation award winner for the refrigeration category is Danfoss Compressor-BOCK HGX56 CO2 T. This transcritical 6-cylinder CO2 compressor has an expanded range to enable larger refrigeration and heat pump applications with a smaller footprint and strong energy-efficient performance.
Other refrigeration finalists were Chemours Opteon™ XL40 and ebm-papst Inc. for DV280 products.
Ventilation
Winner: Rosenberg USA, Inc.
Rosenberg I-Series Backward Curved Fans

The award winner in the ventilation category was Rosenberg. It created 23 different models of I-Series fans, with sizes ranging from 355mm to 630mm. These fans are equipped with a high-efficiency, high-volume I-impeller that includes five backwards-curved, hollow-profile airfoil aluminium blades and circumferential diffusers designed for optimised efficiency. The upgraded new impeller improves efficiency by as much as 11 percent and cuts noise levels by more than 50% compared to previous impeller designs.
