Mega Image with total-store system reduces environmental impact

The Total-Store solution lowers energy usage while providing monitoring tools for efficient resource and process management. In collaboration with Technoelectric, CAREL provided Mega Image with the Total-Store system for energy monitoring and optimisation across 973 stores, achieving an overall energy saving of 14 percent.

Total-Store is a solution designed to integrate refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting technologies, allowing remote management of all energy consumption areas for new store projects and retrofitting existing ones. Based on an analysis conducted on a sample of stores, this choice has enabled the Ahold Delhaize group retailer in Romania to achieve a reduction in CO₂ emissions of 6.39 kilotons, with an estimated annual cost savings of €5.3 million.

Mega Image, which required a scalable solution capable of real-time energy consumption monitoring and optimisation, found Total-Store to be a flexible system ideal for managing complex and third-party technologies, ensuring a smooth transition to natural refrigerants and significantly reducing operating costs. CAREL has developed a centralised, integrated system that monitors and optimises the various energy consumption areas of the stores. The Total-Store solution reduces energy consumption and offers advanced monitoring tools for optimal resource and process management, such as automatic HACCP reporting for temperature compliance and remote diagnostics to avoid on-site interventions.
