Daikin introduces enhanced certification for the Altherma 4 heat pump

The second certification will include both online and hands-on training for commissioning, maintaining, and repairing Daikin Altherma 4 heat pumps that use R-290 refrigerant.

The European Union anticipates a significant increase. In the next 10 years, there will be a need for competent heat pump technicians who have received extensive installation safety training. Daikin understands the critical role that they will play in guaranteeing the safety and effectiveness of heat pump installations.

Daikin introduced its Stand by Me Certified Partner program earlier in 2023, which expands on the company’s existing training at the Daikin Academy. The program provides training focused on installation safety and quality, as well as the opportunity for installers to receive a certified partner label. With this label, installers may reassure homeowners that they are highly skilled heat pump installers.

Patrick Crombez, General Manager Heating and Renewables at Daikin Europe, said, “This extended program emphasizes the importance of training and safety for Daikin. It has long been part of our ethos, and we have been offering training through our 61 Daikin Academy training centers across Europe for many years, putting us at the forefront of safe, high-quality heating installation.”

The complete Stand by Me Certified Partner programme allows the installer community to manage all of Daikin’s residential heat pump technologies, including the upcoming Daikin Altherma 4 series. It is open for all installers to join. Over 1000 installers have already joined since it started in September 2023.

The second certification contains two 45-minute online training sessions. These lessons address the safety, storage, shipping, installation, maintenance, repair, and disposal of the Daikin Altherma 4, which uses R-290 refrigerant. After completing the online training, installers are urged to attend the follow-up training session, which will take place in person on two separate days at one of Daikin’s several training centres.
