Union Budget 2019: A boon for HVAC&R

Union Budget 2019 is out! Let’s us have a look at what the HVAC peeps have to say!

Praising the Union Budget 2019, Kulwant Singh, Entrepreneur and Founder, Kleanwave Solutions, says that the government is investing majorly on education, medicine, infrastructure (metro, railways, airports, etc). “Many projects like new IITs, IIMs, NITs, AIIMs, airports, metro projects are under construction or in planning phase, due to which commercial/central air conditioning market/business may rise far beyond the expectations.”

According to Sangita Jhangiani, Consulting Engineer & Founder, Enova and President, Mumbai Chapter, Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), refrigeration is one of the areas that the government wants to focus on. “There are several incentives on offer. This is because plenty of food produced in our country gets wasted due to the lack of infrastructure for cold storages.”

“We want to encourage our industry people to focus more on refrigeration. And the other thing is sustainability,” says Jhangiani. “We want to encourage people to come up with ideas that can encourage sustainability. So it’s not just about products, it’s about reaching out to people who are involved in a project. The budget has an impact and it’s guiding us to think in that direction.”
