Akash Agarwal, CEO and Director, Crystal Logistics Cool Chain Limited, talks about the significance of cold chain logistics services amid national lockdown through optimum utilisation of 3PL and 4PL services for temperature-controlled transportation services for an exemplary experience for their consumers.

Current pandemic fear across the region has reduced the industrial demand. How are planning to capitalise the loss incurred during this period?
We cannot deny that the situation is difficult, Sustainability is getting tough due to the economic crisis across the country. So, the financial crunch and the pandemic are making it worst for people’s basic survival. From the business point of view, several states are facing losses. But the positive part is that the industries can recover and monetise those losses once the lockdown is eased and lifted. The most important thing at this time is to sustain the situation with the right belief and necessary precautionary measures are taken care of at the business.

How are industries planning to deal with the present situation?
Cold Chain industry of India holds a huge responsibility to deal with this situation. As we are acting as one of the brave knights of our government who are shouldering the responsibilities of storing preserving delivering the essential commodities. As we are looked upon at this situation to give our best services not just our consumers but the nation at large. We have our state of art cold room to store 12k pallets and reefer transportation to pan India as well as the refer cold boxes (containers) depending on your business model we are a one stop solution for all your requirements.

With the purview of COVID-19 trends, how do view the present global market scenario?
Earlier, the high cost of processed food items posed a major challenge for the sector to grow. In this pandemic the Indian frozen food industries is expected to grow by 17 per cent annually from 2020- 24 as due to the covid-19 people have gone more health conscious about their consumption essentials and as well as their daily essentials . Where all other sectors are facing slumps cold chain in India has been seeing an upward spiral, growing by the demand of the food and health conscious people. Wherein, we find this opportunity to not only serve our duties as a cold chain but we find it our responsibility towards our nation and support the best we can as we fall under the essential services as mentioned by our respective government of India. Crystal supports the virtues of being self-dependent and it has been since years to be termed and support make in India or made in India concepts not just supporting the small business but also the economy at large.

At Crystal we believe in the “Farm to Fork!” concept where right from our warehouses to our reefer containers and reefer transportation all we ensure is the right temperature inorder to preserve the freshness of the product. The revival of the cold chain sector is expected to open up a plethora of opportunities for players having strong linkages in the agriculture value chain. What is your organisations market revival plans to regain consumers’ confidence?
We believed in concept to preserve the freshness of the products so the consumption is safe and secured.Essential commodities are products like which require temperature specific requirement like perishables of dairy, farming industries, we can assure for the best in it right from our state of art warehouse facility to 3pl and 4pl as well as have an extended arm to build up your own cold room in your premises with our container product superstore or blast freezer we are trying to cater the best from our end in this situation not just from business to business option but also giving wings to new businesses by owning or renting the portable cold boxes (containers) so we as all help each other in this tough situation as together as one nation.
