Lynx Fleet

Carrier Transicold has introduced Lynx Fleet, a digital platform in India, leveraging IoT and analytics to enhance visibility and efficiency in refrigerated transport operations, reducing costs and improving sustainability.

Carrier Transicold launched Lynx™ Fleet, a digital platform at REFCOLD India 2023. It is now in India for over-the-road owners, operators and leasing companies providing a new level of visibility, data and actionable insights. Applying advanced internet of things (IoT), machine learning and analytics, Lynx Fleet provides users with a new ability to monitor and manage their refrigerated transport, automate key processes and reduce logistics failures to increase performance and lower total cost of ownership. Carrier Transicold is part of Carrier Global Corporation, global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

Cynthia Lu, Managing Director, Truck Trailer Asia, Carrier Transicold said “Our customers have asked for a more connected cold chain to improve their fleet optimisation and business operations. We will continue to strengthen Lynx Fleet to further support our customers in meeting their goals.”

Depending on their chosen configuration and service plan, customers can enjoy a range of advantages when it comes to managing refrigerated transport. These benefits include the ability to monitor and control temperature levels in order to ensure compliance and accountability. Automatic notifications are also provided to inform users when reefer trucks enter or leave predefined geographic areas. Additionally, real-time alerts are generated if any warning conditions arise while a refrigeration unit is in operation. This system also offers performance monitoring for refrigeration units, aiding in fuel efficiency and the protection of transported products. Furthermore, the technology simplifies operations by enabling wireless data transfer for remote setpoint adjustments, pre-trip diagnostics, hands-free precooling, and more, which reduces the need for manual labor. Fuel level monitoring is another feature that helps prevent low-fuel incidents, eliminating the need for emergency callout services. Door switch monitoring is in place to track deliveries and identify potential theft incidents. Lastly, the continuous flow of analytical and diagnostic information ensures improved refrigeration unit uptime, enhancing reliability and overall operational efficiency.

Pankaj Mehta, Managing Director, Truck Trailer, India & South Asia, Carrier Transicold noted, “The system’s unit analytics provide a unique advantage for Carrier customers. No other telematics solution provides as much insight about Carrier Transicold units, because it was developed and qualified specifically for Carrier Transicold equipment.”

Lynx Fleet will enable customers to establish current usage and best practices to set goals, identify areas of improvement and monitor success. A key feature is the two-way command function to reduce running hours and fuel consumption, minimising carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The Lynx Fleet solution helps empower customers to achieve their sustainability goals, a recent focus in India.
