Carel upgrades innovations in solutions for advanced decentralised systems


CAREL, a multinational specialising in control solutions for the air conditioning, refrigeration and air humidification sectors, presented at Euroshop 2020 its complete Heos system, now upgraded and extended with important new features.

Heos is a control solution for self-contained refrigerating units, available for operation with both natural refrigerants; CO2 and propane, and traditional HFC and HFO refrigerants with a low GWP. In response to market demands, the system’s range of applications has now been extended to not only include semi plug-in solutions in water loop systems, but also air-cooled plug-in solutions.

Energy efficiency, stable temperature control, fast installation, design flexibility, reduced refrigerant charge and leaks and all the benefits of Heos technology are therefore now also available for air-cooled plug-in solutions.

At Euroshop, we also previewed Heos box, the new semi plug-in condensing unit entirely conceived and developed by CAREL, which allows operators to reduce their time to market.

Thanks to the implementation of dedicated algorithms, this all-in-one solution has been enhanced with an advanced data monitoring service: operators can see the energy efficiency and control stability KPIs on intuitive dashboards, which highlight tangible and easily applicable ways to reduce operating and maintenance costs and improve food preservation. Heos box, together with the CAREL advanced monitoring solutions, uses predictive maintenance logic to enable increased system performance and optimisation.

The new additions to the Heos range include Heos one, the system for propane applications in medium- and low-capacity commercial and professional refrigerating units. This plug and play solutions are available for both low and medium temperatures, and brings all of the characteristics of high efficiency and reliability inherent in Heos to small store formats.
