Daikin acquires Robert Heath heating

heat pump services

The deal signed strengthened Daikin’s residential heating service network in the UK, supporting its plans to become a total solutions provider in the HVAC-R market and deliver excellent customer experiences.

Daikin Industries bought the British service provider Robert Heath Heating Ltd. (headquartered in London, United Kingdom). The deal signed strengthened Daikin’s residential heating service network in the UK, supporting its plans to become a total solutions provider in the HVAC-R market and deliver excellent customer experiences. This acquisition marked Daikin’s largest investment in the UK to date.

Heat pump heating is essential to achieving society’s decarbonisation targets. As more of its heat pumps are installed, Daikin aims to make sure that the maintenance capacity follows suit. The acquisition of Robert Heath Heating will enable Daikin to scale up maintenance services for its residential customers in the UK. This is Daikin’s newest innovation in the UK; four years ago, it established a market-leading Sustainable Home Centre network where homeowners can obtain local guidance and new heating and plumbing fitters can begin the shift to heat pumps. Where the center does not offer service, Robert Heath Heating professionals will be able to do so.

Commenting on the acquisition, Daikin UK’s Managing Director, Hiroyasu Ishikawa, said: “Daikin is already the UK’s leading provider of heating and cooling in the residential, commercial, and industrial markets. Daikin UK’s acquisition of Robert Heath Heating reinforces our organization and is intended to assure after-sales support capacity in view of the increasing number of customers who install our residential heat pumps. The acquisition will fuel growth and opportunities for both organizations and ensure excellent levels of customer service and satisfaction.”

Robert Heath’s founder, Robert Heath, added: “This is great news for Robert Heath Heating. Thanks to Daikin, we will be able to speed up the move towards servicing residential heat pumps. We will continue to work closely with our existing partners in the heating and social housing sectors. We are looking forward to joining the Daikin group, who share the same customer-first values as we do.”

Around 450 people work for Robert Heath Heating. This will ensure that it can meet the servicing and maintenance requirements of its domestic heating customers now and in the future.
