ASHRAE 2024 is leading the charge in developing sustainable solutions

The 2024 ASHRAE Annual Conference in Indianapolis will include more than 80 talks and tours covering eight technical tracks: building decarbonisation, artificial intelligence, industrialised construction, ventilation, future-proofing, energy storage, refrigeration, HVAC/R systems, and fundamentals and applications.

The 2024 ASHRAE Annual Conference will include tours, social events, award ceremonies, and a complete technical program with over 80 presentations.

Attendees will have the opportunity explore industry-related subjects associated with the following eight technical tracks:

Pathways for Building Decarbonisation Case studies and research from around the world on methods and policies being developed to reduce carbon’s influence on the global environment. Artificial intelligence focuses on the use of AI and machine learning technology in building automation and controls to improve energy efficiency and comfort.

Industrialised Construction’s Opportunities and Challenges Examines developments in building construction processes and workforce development, as well as the benefits and problems of traditional and industrialized construction. Ventilation and Indoor Environmental Quality. Examines the design, operation, and investigations of ventilation, air distribution systems, and all aspects of indoor environmental quality, such as noise, vibration, and illumination, in residential and commercial structures.

Future Proofing the Built Environment Highlights innovative technologies and tactics that are emerging around the world to redefine our interaction with the built environment today and in the future. Energy Storage and Grid Resiliency focuses on breakthroughs in cost-effective TES materials and systems, thermal TES integration into building envelopes or HVAC systems, and grid resilience.

Refrigeration & Refrigerants Underscores the critical need for refrigeration in modern life and focuses on refrigerant regulations, refrigeration cycles and applications. HVAC/R Systems and Equipment Focuses on the creation of new systems and equipment, the enhancement of current systems and equipment, and the proper application and operation of systems and equipment. Fundamentals & Applications provides fundamental components for understanding engineering applications such as thermodynamics, psychrometrics, fluid and mass flow.

The plenary session will feature a keynote presentation from Julia Landauer, two-time champion NASCAR driver and advocate for STEM Education and women’s empowerment.

During the President’s Luncheon on June 24, incoming 2024-25 ASHRAE President Dennis Knight, P.E., BEMP, Fellow ASHRAE, will deliver his inaugural address, and the 2024-25 officers and directors will be installed.

The 2024 ASHRAE Conference for Integrated Design, Construction, and Operations will be held in conjunction with the ASHRAE Annual Conference on June 24-26 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Previously known as the Building Performance Analysis Conference, this conference offers a comprehensive look at existing tools and applied knowledge, as well as an analysis and integration of future technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and robotics.
